A Woman's Vault
A Lesson in How We Use Our Power
Recently, my team held a conference in Baltimore (that I originally co-created in London last year) celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2017. The conference and celebratory event were extremely successful. We honored six (6) incredible, professional women and one “evolved” man. The honorees came from all walks of life–from authors and professors to industry leaders and diplomats. Our honorees were particularly grateful for the opportunity to connect with one another and to be recognized for their contributions to the world.
Although the event ran very smoothly, like many events, tensions escalated within the team as a result of the many and unpredictable situations that often occur during large affairs. Beyond working through the actual challenges, what was even more impactful, were the insights I was able to glean with regard to our gender differences, points of focus, communications and perspectives – ultimately how we each, men and women, demonstrate our power.
Our Unique Nature and Feminine Power
As women, we have a unique nature, inherent in that nature is POWER. In the situation described above, I believe the women on the team used some of what I call our “super-powers” to varying degrees. Significantly, in my experience, women only use about 20% of their unique “super-powers” – the part of their nature tucked away in their “personal vault.”
The purpose of this book is to help readers understand the powerful nature and true value of women and to learn how to double the utilization your super-powers. So, rather than overusing some of your “go-to” powers, you can explore and tap into your super-powers that will ultimately produce a more impactful and significant lift in your career and life.
Knowing Is Not Enough
“Neo, sooner or later you’re going to realize just as I did that there’s a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.” – The Matrix
The Matrix Trilogy, contains three (3) of my favorite movies packed with mind- blowing enlightenment themes, purposeful awareness, and exciting demonstrations of the powerful nature and true value of women.
You may be asking, “How do The Matrix movies figure into this book? Simply stated, there are so many profound themes in the movie but one key message, especially when applied to women, is when Morpheus says to Neo – “… sooner or later you’re going to realize just as I did that there’s a difference between knowing the path and walking the path. KNOWING is not enough, you must APPLY; Willing is not enough, you must ACT.”
Women KNOW a lot of stuff! Many women enjoy great success on their chosen paths and have succeeded by learning the traditional paths to success as created by those who are often in positions of power, men. There is nothing wrong with that path to success, however, we KNOW more. Whether you are a business executive, a housewife nurturing and managing a family, a single woman doing life as you see fit, we are much more than we often express. There is so much more of your POWERFUL nature locked away in your personal vault than you may ever demonstrate. I know this because if we were all walking our path the world would be a different place.
Accordingly, I invite you to take a journey with me, wherever you are on your path, to FIND THE KEY TO YOUR VAULT – so that you can discover YOUR purpose and walk YOUR unique path. As you read more, whether this is the first time being exposed to the powerful nature of women or if you have been exposed to some of these concepts before, note that this book is a reminder of who you really are deep down to the core of your being. There is a part of all of us that recognizes truth when we hear it.
